A suspected terrorist has blown up himself with an improvised Explosive Device (IED) to evade arrest by security operatives at Keke Community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, Muhammed Jalige, told Journalists that the incident happened at the early hours of Monday and that he was awaiting the full details of the incident from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Millennium City.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the victim has been on the radar of security agencies who trailed him to an apartment in the Keke community in Chikun local government where he had been hiding.
A combined team of security operatives then surrounded the apartment and engaged the suspect in a gun battle, but upon sensing that he was about to be outgunned, he detonated the IED, killing himself in the process.
Meanwhile, the mutilated body of the suspect was later evacuated from the scene by security operatives who also took his wife and children away for further investigation.
