The Chairman, National Hajj Commission (NAHCOM), Zikhrullah Kunle Hassan, has assured intending pilgrims that there will be no further increase or changes in Hajj fares.
The clarification comes hot on the heels of a $250 fee imposed on passengers by air carriers due to the conflict in Sudan, which has led to the closure of its air-space.
The The announcement by the Hajj Commission came at a one-day training in Abuja between NAHCON and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj, with the training being the first of its kind in Africa.
Also, the NAHCON chairman expressed concern over the additional $63 charges for camp and electronic applications on visas by the Saudi Kingdom’s Hajj Ministry, which he said is contrary to an agreement signed by both countries earlier.
The NAHCON boss added that the Commission had written to the Saudi Hajj Ministry on the extra charge for camp and electronic visas, and is awaiting their response.
