DSS raids terrorists hideouts in Kaduna, Kano

The Department of State Services (DSS) has raided the hideouts of terrorists in parts of Kaduna and Kano States in the early hours of Monday, 15th May.

Public Relations Officer of DSS, Peter Afunanya in a statement on Tuesday said the raid was carried out with troops of the Nigerian Army and the Police Force.

In Kaduna State, it said the terrorists deployed Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) against the fighting forces and one of the terrorists who wore suicide jacket blew himself up, while three suspects were arrested.

It listed items recovered to include two suicide jackets, one AK-47 rifle, a pistol and one laptop.

While in Kano State, the statement said two suspects were arrested.

A pistol, 11 mobile phones, two hand grenades, one fully charged AK-47 magazine, two empty AK-47 magazines, one saloon car and an ID card belonging to a suspect that escaped were recovered during the raids.

According to the statement, intelligence had earlier revealed that high profile terrorist targets were regrouping in the North-West to carry out dastardly acts in the area.
