Meta has begun rolling out a paid verification service in the UK.

Similar to Twitter’ blue tick, the service gives Facebook and Instagram users a blue tick after paying a monthly subscription.

Subscribers are to meet some requirements such as must be least 18 years old, submit a government ID and a selfie video to qualify.

BBC reports that the feature is already available in the US, Australia and New Zealand.

It will not be accessible to all in the UK immediately, but people who registered interest in the service will receive a notification that they can get it first.

Meta said the service will be rolled out to others in the UK in the coming weeks.
