Nigeria commiserates with US over killing in Anambra

The Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the killing of two US embassy officials and two Nigerian policemen by gunmen during an attack in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The President who was saddened by the incident that took place on Tuesday16th May, condoled with the US and families of the deceased.

Also, President Buhari was briefed about the tragic killing of several persons in Bwoi District of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, as well that of several people in Adaka village in Makurdi Local Government and in Ijaha community of Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.

Similarly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has described the attack, saying it is condemnable and most regrettable.

In a statement, the Ministry said investigation was ongoing to fish out the culprits and bring them to book and extended the sympathy to the families of the deceased as well as to the United States Consulate and Mission in Nigeria over the unfortunate incident.

It reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria government to the fight against all forms of crime and criminality in the country.
