Third republic Reps narrate how Tinubu won election

The victory of Senator Bola Tinubu at the 2023 presidential election has been attributed to his longstanding investment in the defence of democracy, especially during the turbulent June 12 struggle.

The assertion was made by members of the third republic house of representatives Forum in a statement signed by their  National Chairman, Dr Adzer Abya ; National Publicity Secretary, Chief Gabriel Eni-Otu, and National Secretary, Wasiu Logun on behalf of 63 other members.

According to the forum, the democratic tenets of President Muhammadu Buhari and determination of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were other factors that made the election a success.

Expressing appreciation to president Buhari for recognising Chief MKO Abiola posthumously as the winner of the June 12 1993 presidential vote, as well as restoring some of his entitlements and those of his running-mate, Alhaji Babagana Kingibe, the group of former lawmakers also urged the federal government to correct the ills meted out to them.

They argued that the emergence of Senator Tinubu, a member of the Third Republic, as President-Elect, raises the hope that all other issues relating to that Republic would be settled fairly and justly.
