The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his party All Progressives Congress, (APC) have asked the Presidential Election Petition Court, (PEPC), to dismiss the motion filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential flagbearer in the February 25, general election, Atiku Abubakar, seeking live broadcast of the PEPC sittings.

Also, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, through its counsel, Mr Abubakar Mahmoud, told the court that the commission has filed a counter affidavit in opposition to the application.

Tinubu, INEC and the APC, are the three respondents in the petition filed by Atiku and PDP.

By the motion, Atiku and PDP are praying for an order of the court allowing the televising of the court proceeding given it’s monumental national importance as well as for an order directing the modalities for it’s implementation.

As at the time of this report, the PEPC is hearing the motion.
