Nigerian actress and evangelist, Patience Ozokwor popularly known as Mama G on Saturday clinched the Industry Merit Award category of the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA9).
The awards which was held in Lagos celebrated outstanding talents in the film and television industry across Africa.
The AMVCA on its Twitter handle says Ozokwor’s exceptional talent and contributions to the entertainment industry have shaped the landscape of African cinema.
Ozokwor who was born on 14 September 1958, in Enugu State, started off her career as an announcer and broadcaster on Radio Nigeria before delving into the world of film making.
She rose to fame from her role in the 1999 movie titled “Authority”. The talent has acted in hundreds of movies.
Mama G as she is fondly call, has portrayed a wide range of characters in various movies, Mostly known for playing the role of a “wicked woman” in most of her films.
Ozokwor has won other awards like ‘the Best Supporting Actress 2012 and 2013 award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
She was also among the top 100 Nigerians Honored by the government to celebrate the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates in 2014.
