A Former Minister of Power, Prof Chinedu Nebo has commended Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State on the construction of the Owerri-Okigwe road, which hitherto was a death trap to motorists.

“I drove through Okigwe-Owerri road two weeks ago with my family and there was no single pot-hole on the road. commuters had before now suffered as a result of the deplorable condition of the road,” he noted.

Prof Nebo said dredging of the Oguta/ Orashi to the Atlantic will lead to the establishment of a sea port in the South-East.

He called on Governors in the South-East to initiate programmes that would create wealth for the teaming number of unemployed youths in the region.

Prof Chilaka of the Department of Biochemistry of the University, also applauded Governor Uzodimma for constructing durable roads in Imo State.

“I was pleasantly amazed recently when we went to bury a late colleague, to discover that “Owerri to Okigwe that used to take three hours because of the bad state of the road, now takes only 45 minutes,” he said.

Prof Jerry Ugwuanyi, former Dean of faculty of Biological Sciences, described the new Owerri-Okigwe road as amazing and motorable.
