Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has inaugurated the first flyover bridge in Katsina metropolis, as part of activities marking the end of his administration.
The 578-meter-long bridge was constructed at the GRA junction proceeding from Hassan Usman Katsina road to Isa Kaita road.
The Governor also inaugurated the Kofar Guga-Sullubawa-Masanawa road, which was constructed at the sum of N1.3 billion.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Alhaji Abdu Usman said the Flyover Bridge was constructed at the cost of N6.4 billion Naira and was completed within one year.
He stated that the bridge was constructed “to standard” with solar-powered street lights and road markings for the convenience of commuters.
Alhaji Usman said the project would open up the ever-busy GRA junction by providing smooth access to commuters; thereby eliminating traffic congestion and recurring accidents on the junction.
Similarly, the State Roads Maintenance Agency, KATSROMA, has constructed and rehabilitated roads across the state with a total length of 95 kilometers.
“I want to assure the people of Katsina State that my successor, Dr Dikko Umar Radda, will continue from where we stop and even so more in improving the general living conditions in the state,” Governor Masari said.
