Bala Muhammed dissolves cabinet

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has dissolved members of the State Executive Council.

The dissolution also affects Chairmen and Board Members of Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs) and Government’s owned Companies.

However, Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff Government House and Principal Private Secretary to the Governor are to maintain their positions pending further directives by the Governor.

Addressing Journalists after a valedictory Session of the State Executive Council Presided by Governor Bala Mohammed, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Ibrahim Kashim said Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen are also not affected.

According to the SSG, the action was inline with provisions of the Constitution which makes it necessary to dissolve them before 29 May 2023 when the new administration would be sworn in.

He added that the affected persons are to handover all official documents to permanent secretaries, Directors or most senior officers in their Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
