The Governor of Kaduna State Nasiru El-Rufai has inaugurated the Arla Milk farm in Damau, Kabau Local government area of the State expected to produce over 10,000 litres of milk daily to meet the local demand.
While Inaugurating the project, governor Elrufai said the project would transform cattle rearing from being a culture into a profitable business saying it would also help in curtailing farmers-herders conflict by settling over 1200 herders and their families on the 9000 hectares-Damau Grazing Reserve.
He maintained that the Farm is equipped with modern facilities and technology to ensure the production of high-quality milk, with a capacity of over 400 cows and is expected to produce over 10,000 litres of milk daily.
The project would contribute to the development of the dairy sector, create job opportunities, and boost the economy, he said.
The Governor was accompanied by his Deputy Dr Hadiza Balarabe while the Emir of Zazzau Ambassador Nuhu Bamali and other dignitaries witnessed the event.
The Danish dairy company is owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
