ECOWAS tell women to priotize their health

Women have been urged to take their wellbeing seriously while managing their homes and official duties.

The Vice President ECOWAS Amazons, a group of Female staff of the ECOWAS Commission, Marieme SY made the call in Abuja during a health talk and walk as part of activities marking the 2023 International Women’s Day.

Mrs SY expressed worry that women usually forget to take care of their health while concentrating in managing their families and official activities.

She urged women in the sub-region to give priority to routine exercise and healthy lifestyle to enable them to enjoy a productive life.

Mrs SY also called on men especially husbands to be more supportive to their spouses in situations that concerns their health and well-being.

The ECOWAS Amazons had a road walk of about 5 kilometers within the FCT, followed by a health talk on prevention of diseases, stress management and risk factors to commemorate the International Women’s Day which was marked on 8 of march annually.
