Chelsea Football Club on Monday appointed Mauricio Pochettino, as the new head coach of the team from the beginning of 2023/24 season.
The Argentine accepted the daunting task of reviving the troubled Premier League club.
Pochettino agreed to a two-year contract extension and will return to the Premier League four years after being fired by Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham.
Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, said the Argentine will begin his new role on 1 July 2023 on a two-year contract, with a club option of a further year.
“Mauricio is a world-class coach with an outstanding track record. We are all looking forward to having him on board,” Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali said in a statement.
