Police seal Nasarawa House of Assembly

Nasarawa State Police Command has sealed off the State House of Assembly complex to forestall any breakdown of law and order following the emergence of two factions of the 7th House of Assembly in the state.

On Tuesday, June 6, Daniel Ogazi and Ibrahim Balarabe were elected speakers of the 7th House by two factions.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Lafia on Wednesday said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Maiyaki Baba gave the directive following consultation with other security agencies in the state.

According to him, no member from the two factions will be allowed entry into the Assembly complex until sanity is restored.

Police armored personnel carrier was stationed at the main gate of the Assembly complex with stern look security officers in their number taking positions around the premises.
