French police has cordon off the site of the attack.
Six people, including four children have been injured in a knife attack in a park in the French alpine town of Annecy.
The country’s interior ministry says the attack was carried out by an individual in a square in Annecy, in south-eastern France.
France Minister of the Interior and Overseas, Gérald Darmanin confirmed the arrest of the assailant in a tweet on Thursday.
BBC reported that the attacker, who was shot and then arrested, is a 31-year-old Syrian man with refugee status in Sweden.
The Minister who described the attack as an act of cowardice, sympathised with the families of the victims.
The attack left two children and a man in a life-threatening condition.
