Governor of Enugu State Peter Mbah has presented to President Bola Tinubu the collective demand of the southeast for the release of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.

Briefing State House correspondents on the issue, the Governor said the demand was propelled by President Tinubu’s pronouncement that he would serve with compassion.

“He promised the people that he’s going to engender national healing, and he’s going to serve with compassion. So we’ve basically informed him that this would serve as a pointer to his administration’s extension of hands of fellowship to Ndigbo” he said.

The Governor said his visit was also to register their support to President Tinubu’s administration, and get their people on the path of development.

Governor Mbah said Enugu had a number of dominant assets, which they believe that partnering with the Federal Government would transform them into productive assets.
