Al-Shabaab kills 9 in Somalia capital

Nine people have been killed in a terrorist attack at Pearl Beach Hotel in Mogadishu on Friday night.

Police say the Al-Shabaab militants have claimed the attack that left six civilians and three soldiers dead.

Somali National News Agency (SONNA) reports that the security forces swiftly responded to the attack and killed all seven of the Al-Shabaab militants involved in the operation that concluded around midnight.

The director of an ambulance service, Abdikadir Abdirahman confirms that his team carried 20 injured persons from the scene.

84 other civilians were rescued by security agents including children, women, and the elderly.
