Three British tourists missing after boat fire

Boat Hurricane

Three British tourists are reportedly missing following a fire on board in a boat during a sea cruise in the Egyptian Red Sea.

Authorities say twenty-four other people, including 12 Britons, have been rescued from the boat, called Hurricane, which was off the coast of Marsa Alam.

They explained that the initial reports suggested the fire, which occurred at 06:30 local time, was due to an electrical fault.

According to BBC, the boat had been on a dive cruise and had left Port Ghalib on 6 June, due to return on Sunday.

Local authorities said 15 British passengers were on board along with 10 crew members and two guides.

The Red Sea Governorate confirmed that the public prosecution office had begun an investigation.
