Arsenal offer £30m for Jurrien Timber

Jurrien Timber

Arsenal has made an opening bid of £30 million offered to sign Jurrien Timber from Ajax, according to The Athletic.

The initial proposal falls short Ajax’s asking price of £50 million.

But there is “optimism that a compromise can be reached.

Jurrien Timber a graduate from the Ajax academy has won 15 International caps for the Netherlands and is considered a versatile defender who can slot in as a right-back and also center-back player.

Last season, the Dutch international was in outstanding form for Ajax in the Eredivisie, and he did not only showed his worth in defense but also scored two goals and has made a total of 121 appearances for Ajax

Timber was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer and was joined by Liverpool subsequently.

Timber has made 121 appearances for Ajax since progressing through the club’s academy ranks and has won two Eredivisie titles with the club.

He was named as the Eredivisie Player of the Year and Eredivisie Talent of the Year during Ajax’s 2021/22 title success and has won 15 caps for the Dutch at international level.

Gunner’s boss, Mikel Arteta is now vying to bring in Timber to reinforce his defense option and seeks to complete the deal as soon as possible before next season.
