Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of the state following recent attacks that led to loss of lives and property.

On 19 June, 2023 the Interim Management Committee Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area, Markus Artu imposed an indefinite dusk to dawn curfew following renewed killings of persons and destruction of property in the area.

The Director of Press and Public Affairs for the Governor, Gyang Bere, in a statement said the Governor issued the curfew on the whole LGA after consulting with the State Security Council as appropriate to restore peace and order.

It stated that movements within the Local Government have been banned until further notice except for security personnel and persons on essential duties.

While assuring the people that the government is working assiduously to restore peace and security in the state, the Governor directed security agencies to ensure total enforcement of the curfew.
