Six persons allegedly involved in the enforcement of the illegal sit-at-home order declared by a non-state actor have been paraded at the Police Headquarters, Abakaliki.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Onome Onovwakpoyeya told newsmen that some of the suspects were arrested in Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government Area, while others were picked up at a native doctor’s shrine in Amanator Isu in Onitcha Local Government Area where they were fortifying themselves with charms in preparation for an attack.
Mrs Onovwakpoyeya named the suspects as Emmanuel Edwin, Innocent Odii, Sunday Nwenne and Okonkwo Victor.
Others were Chika Ogad and Sunday Chukwu. Another individual who was said to have sustained bullet wounds died in the hospital.
Items recovered from the suspects include one pump action gun, an AK47 rifle with breach number 400557 and nine rounds of 762 by 39mm AK 47 live ammunition.
Others were: one Toyota Highlander Jeep, one fireman surmac generator, one motorcycle and “Assorted criminal charms”.
