A Total of Nine hundred and Ninety-five million naira has been expended by the World Health Organisation, WHO in 2022 for different interventions in the health sector of Plateau state.
The State Coordinator of WHO, Mr Musa Mahdi stated this when he paid a visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang at Ray Field, Jos.
Mr Mahdi explained that the interventions were aimed at supporting the State Government in health related issues.
He commended the state government for ensuring that its health care policies were in tune with that of the organization and further advocated the need to reach out to needy communities.
Responding, Governor Caleb Mutfwang appreciated the commitment of WHO for providing health care services to the people of the state and expressed confidence in the ability of those appointed to head the different health institutions, agencies and boards in the state to deliver on their mandate.
He however, decried the low ratio of doctors to patients being experienced and promised to empower the state University towards producing more medical doctors in order to fill in the gap.
