Foundation empowers 50 PWDs in FCT

A Non-Governmental Organization, Mac Arthur Foundation has trained 50 FCT Original Inhabitants of Persons living with Disability (PWDs) on shoe making as part of effort to make them self reliant.

The training was done with the collaboration of FCT Original Inhabitants of Persons living with Disability (PWDs) in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

The PWDs were selected from the six Area Councils.

Two of the beneficiaries, Mary Maikano and Yusuf Ishak said they would put to use the skills acquired to earn capital for themselves.

The President, FCT Original Inhabitants of Persons living with Disability, Festus Yakubu explained that the skill would go a long way in make them independent.

While commending the Present administration for appointing an FCT native as a Minister designate, Yakubu appealed to the Minister designate, Zaphaniah Jisalo to prioritize job creation for its members and other youths in the Territory when he is assigned a portfolio.
