Image-changing song for Nigeria ‘in the making’ – Minister Musawa

The Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa wants Nigerian songwriters and artists to collaboratively compose an image-changing song for the country as a means to project the nation’s image to the rest of the world.

To this end, Ms Musawa said the Ministry has set modalities in place to design a national brand song for the country.

The Minister stated this when she assumed duty as the first Female Minister to hold the portfolio in Abuja.

Ms Musawa stated that Nigeria must do all she could to change the negative image that has been tagged to the name which include poverty, fraud, terrorism and other forms of criminality.

She appealed for support from all Nigerians as she said it was the only way to make the campaign a success.

Ms Musawa believed that the country’s Arts and Creative Industry, have a long history and deserved to be at the top of all other countries, hence the need to give it maximum attention for improved foreign earnings.

The Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy assured that all the necessary plans would immediately be activated, adding that she will enlist the services of all relevant stakeholders in the public and private sectors for effective execution of the project.
