Sergio Ramos returns to boyhood club Sevilla

Former Spain defender, Sergio Ramos on Monday, said he is returning to his boyhood club Sevilla 18 years after.

The 37 year old Spanish defender left Sevilla at the age of 19 to join Real Madrid for a then record fee for a Spanish defender.

He joined PSG after his Real contract expired in 2021 and spent two seasons there, winning successive league titles.

Sergio Ramos had a good offer from Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia before opting for Sevilla, according to Local Press.

Ramos said “Happy to return and try to contribute as soon as possible, which is the important thing.”

Sergio Ramos grew up on the outskirts of Seville and joined the club’s academy at age seven, going on to make 50 appearances in all competitions before signing for Real Madrid in 2005.
