The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has about 140,000 uncollected Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) ready for distribution in Imo state.
Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Professor Sylvia Agu disclosed this at the opening of a two day capacity building of Electoral Officers in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
Giving updates on the readiness for the November 11 governorship election in Imo state, the professor said the commission had about 6,000 Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines ready for deployment.
She explained that non sensitive materials for the exercise were also been assembled while sensitisation of the electorates were ongoing.
INEC National Commissioner in charge of Electoral Operations and Logistics Committee, Dr Baba Bila added that the commission had adopted strategies to guarantee free, fair and credible polls in the off circle election in the state.
