Three dead, over 15 missing in Zimbabwe mine collapse

Three Miners have lost their lives and more than 15 others missing after the collapse of Bay Horse gold mine in Chegutu, Zimbabwe Television channel report

The bodies that were retrieved from the shaft underneath some rocks as search operation are undertaken by government with the assistance of some artisanal miners.

Although the cause of the collapse is yet to be discovered.

The Zimbabwe Miners Federation said its secretary general and the Chegutu Miners Association chairman would go to the site to figure out what happened.

In 2019, a heavy rain in the central Zimbabwe had left 24 miners dead when an abandoned pit flooded.

Illegal mining is in widespread and frequently occurs in dangerous circumstances as a result of the economy’s collapse.
