Reps to adopt living wage for workers- Rotimi

The lawmakers has assured Nigerians that it is commitment in addressing the current challenges plaguing the nation.

The House of Representatives says it is commitment to working with all stakeholders to achieve a reasonable living wage for workers.

Spokesman of the house, Akin Rotimi who stated this in a statement to commemorate the nations 63rd Independence Anniversary.

Mr Rotimi said this is to ensure that the executive arm of government expedites action on palliative measures to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy on vulnerable Nigerians.

Speaking on the theme of the Anniversary “Renewed Hope for Unity and Prosperity”, Mr Rotimi observed that this year’s anniversary presents another opportunity to Nigerians to reflect on the hope, unity, peace, and shared prosperity bequeathed to the country by the founding fathers.

The spokesman said the House was mindful of the numerous challenges Nigerians are facing as a result of the current economic hardship.
