IDPs seek urgent medical assistance
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Durumi Camp in Area 1 Abuja have called on the Federal Government and other stakeholders to establish a hospital to address their health concerns. At the IDP Camp Durumi, Area 1, Abuja, Chairman of the Camp Mr Ibrahim Amadu said the mortality rate was increasing due to the deplorable state of their living conditions and inability to receive quality medical attention. Mr Amadu explained that the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and IDPs usually provide free medical services to the IPDs at the camp at the National Hospital Abuja and the Asokoro General Hospital since 2014, discontinued in 2018 and the hospitals now request payment to attend to their sick patients. ”We need help to...
